“The joyful sharing of life energy in the present”
Allow ka huna massage to free your mind, transform your body and light up your spirit!

Imagine a bodywork therapy truly exquisite to receive, and at the same time remarkably effective at facilitating transformation in your body, mind and spirit. Imagine a massage capturing the rhythm and aloha spirit of Hawaii that can produce powerful spiritual experiences and heightened states of awareness.

Originating in Polynesia, ka huna massage is a complete healing system aimed at restoring balance and harmony within the body, mind and spirit. Also known as temple-style Lomi Lomi, it is an experience that overwhelms the mind with sensation as the practitioner uses intuitive movement, breathing, rhythm and focussed intention (energy flows where attention goes) in continuous flowing strokes over the body. To move like the ebb and flow of the ocean is to connect with the natural rhythm of Nature and Life within each one of us.

Hawaiians understand health in terms of energy flow. Where there is a blockage disrupting the natural flow in our bodies, disease or ill-health is created. Underlying this belief is the understanding that blockages in the body can be caused by physical means as well as emotional or mental memories and patterns that hold us back from living our full potential with ease and purpose. The master healers of Hawaii knew powerful tools to release blockages held in the body to facilitate positive change on all levels and reconnect a person with his or her personal power and unlimited potential.

Ka huna massage is a down-to-earth treatment that focuses on the body on a physical and energetic level as a means of bringing awareness and healing to all parts of the self.

Traditionally this sacred massage was used as part of an initiation during rites of passage such as puberty, marriage or any major life changes to initiate smooth transition and integration of these changes and result in a sense of wholeness and peace. Fortunately some of this wisdom has survived by being passed down through families in the Hawaiian oral tradition and can now be shared as a massage therapy that unveils the truth and beauty within so that we can live our lives with purpose and abundance according to our unique gifts and talents (effectiveness is the measure of truth).

‘So much more than a massage’, ka huna is unique in many different ways. The practitioner uses forearms, hands and elbows in a deep, dynamic ‘dance of breath and life from the heart’, flowing with rhythm and using intuition to focus on parts of the body that are ready for release and healing. As healing energy is generated the body’s innate wisdom stimulates self-healing, and with the focus of the practitioner is able to break through limiting patterns and redirect the flow of energy to where it is needed (all power comes from within). Working on the circulatory, respiratory, immunological, lymphatic, digestive, nervous and endocrine systems, the body begins to heal in remarkable ways (there are no limits).

Each massage session is a unique treatment as your body begins to open and deeper layers of stress and tension are revealed. The process is a gentle yet powerful experience that gets you more in touch with yourself and helps you become aware of your thoughts and feelings. While learning this sacred technique therapists reconnect with their own unique rhythm and style expressed in their massage and allows the freedom of intuition to guide their movements. Thus the practitioner works with an open heart in the present moment, ‘reading’ the body and following guidance from within (now is the moment of power). The intent or consciousness of the practitioner is a key element in the practice of this healing massage.

‘Aloha massage’ is another name for this beautiful bodywork. In Hawaii, aloha is much more than simply a greeting; it is a way of life. The word ‘aloha’ has many meanings, one being ‘the joyful sharing of life energy in the present moment’. Aloha is the unconditional love one feels flowing through the ka huna therapist that touches some thing deep within us and moves us towards celebrating our true essence with joy and purpose. Aloha represents our interconnectedness with all things and encourages us to trust in the mystery of life.

Aloha teaches us to accept ourselves just as we are, right here, right now, without any judgements; knowing we can make a positive difference in the world just be being who we truly already are (to love is to be happy with). Aloha massage will inspire you to give and receive more love and joy in your life!

Huna philosophy (one meaning being ‘secret’) is a comprehensive view of life offering psychological insights that are certainly among the most complete and profound existing today. These principles are embodied in ka huna massage which acknowledges that our thoughts are a real force with the power to create our external reality (the world is what you think it is). Negative thought patterns, trapped emotions and limiting beliefs are held on an energetic or cellular level within the body and limit our creative potential. As co-creators of our lives we have a choice in each given moment to respond to life without fear from past experiences or expectations about the future.

Allow ka huna massage to free your mind,
transform your body
and light up your spirit!
